MLM Lead Generation is all about putting known techniques and strategies into action. I am going to focus this article on how to generate leads using online methods only. Getting leads from the internet is very scientific and is available to nearly everyone. The online methods of MLM lead generation are far more dependent on taking action rather than skill alone. If you do the steps, you will have results. As you become more familiar with the steps, they will become easier and faster as you move forward.
The fastest way to create MLM lead generation is through paid advertising. This could be pay per click ads, banner ads, paid press releases, and so on. This form of lead generation can become very costly in a short period of time. If you are new to marketing an MLM on the internet, I suggest you proceed with paid advertising with extreme caution. PPC campaigns alone can exceed $1000 per month if you do not take proper precautions. If money is not an issue, then go for it. If it is, I suggest you become familiar with the free MLM lead generation strategies first, and then venture into paid marketing later.
Free MLM lead generation techniques include but are not limited to article marketing, video marketing, free press releases, Search Engine Optimization or SEO which all help with organic search ranking. It is a proven fact that the top two or three web sites that show up in the organic search receive far more clicks than any other sites, including sites participating in paid advertising.
Two things occur with free marketing strategies. An example would be article marketing and video marketing. They perform two key functions. The first would be to put your content out on the web in so many places that people will find it, be interested, and then be directed back to your main site. The other is for the search engines to see how many links are pointing to your site (backlinks), and give your site a higher value or page rank. So the idea would be to get as much of your content out on the web as possible. Special software tools exist that can save you tons of time doing this. I have tried several so I have some suggestions on my site that will save you time and money.
The most overlooked MLM lead generation method is SEO. This method does take research but it is absolutely mandatory. You want your site to be easily found and indexed by the search engines. You will need to do some keyword research to determine which ones best identify your content, but it will pay off big over time. I can’t possibly cover all of the issues with SEO but the web is full of information on this. If you are short on time and have the money, you can hire this out. I have a suggestion for this also.
After you become familiar with the free MLM lead generation strategies, you will be able to make you paid lead generation methods far more effective and less costly.

So let’s get to it. To make real money online, you must be realistic with your goals. And yes, you must have goals. Many ways exist to make real money online. The difference is in what you consider to be real money. My definition of real money is any sum that equals or exceeds what I have to have to live the lifestyle I want. For you, that may be very little or a whole bunch. I personally feel real money starts in the five figures per month range. Basically, if you can quit your job and do it full time, that’s real money. I would think that most people would agree with that.

To make real money online, you will have to think about how you position yourself in the industry. I like the expression “See where the money is flowing and get in front of it”. Being in front of the money flow is a great place to be, right? To do this, you must first be able to assess where the money is flowing. This is such an open ended statement that it could take you months without proper guidance. This is where effective partnering comes into play. Find someone who is having success, and do what they are doing. It only makes sense to capitalize on the success and hard work of others. To make real money online, it is more about duplication, not innovation. You can re-invent the wheel later.

Another very important thing, maybe the most important, to make real money online is leverage. This term can be applied to many things like money, time, experience, partners, positioning, and the list goes on. Let’s use it in relation to position. If you decide to join an online business, let’s say in network marketing, that can teach you how to get in front of the flow of money, positioning is very important. Many network marketing companies require that you start at the bottom of the ladder with very little compensation per sale until you rank up. It only makes sense to get involved with a company that will allow you to position yourself with better leverage per sale at the beginning. That way you can make more money with less effort from the start. This could mean the difference between getting thousands of dollars per sale compared maybe only a few hundred. It only makes sense to position yourself with better leverage up front if you can.

When I first got involve with trying to make real money online, I was actually in the process of recovering from some real estate investments gone bad. We all know what the real estate market has done in this economy and I was obviously not immune to its effects. I was frustrated, in massive debt, and desperately searching for a way to recover my income stream. I will tell you, the situation I was in made it that much more challenging for me to make real money online, but I was determined to do it anyway. Learn from my mistakes and you can make real money online a lot faster.
You see, making real money online is not much different than making real money in any other type of business. It takes proper planning, networking, laying a good foundation, dedication, perseverance, leverage, money, time and a lot of action. If you miss a step because you need to make real money fast, like I did, you stand a good chance of losing more money than you make.
I want you to keep something in mind. To make real money online, you will be required to do some form of marketing. The internet is really just an electronic buffet offering a wide variety of products, information, opportunities and services. Everyone is marketing something in some way or another. Some people offer stuff for free, others charge. To make real money online, you will need to some of both, and the balance of free and not free is important. In any case, you will have to learn the art of transferring your thoughts, ideas and opinions to the minds of others. You will also have to learn how to identify problems and offer solutions. Don’t let the marketing part scare you, we all have marketing skills in us. It just takes a little coaching and practice.
Over the next few articles, I am going to cover some key points that will help you make real money online. I would love to do this in one sitting but that may be an injustice to you and certainly to me. Please, take time to digest what I am saying in each article. It seems that nearly every multi-level marketer spends there time, energy, and money chasing down network marketing prospects. I would be willing to bet that most of them don’t even know what “prospect” means. Let me define it for you; a prospect is a “potential or likely customer”, according to the dictionary.
Now let’s think about this for a minute. Let’s say a person that goes to a car dealership looking to buy a car. Are they likely to be a prospect, or a potential customer for buying a car? Well, they went to a place that sells cars didn’t they. It only makes sense that they would be a prospect, right?
Now let’s take a look at what most people consider to be a network marketing prospect. Most MLM companies teach that a good network marketing prospect would be a friend, family member or a recent acquaintance. Based on the previous example, do they sound like a “potential or likely customer” to you? Did they come to you looking to get involved in a money making opportunity? Did they indicate to you that they wanted to start selling some magic vitamins or miracle juice? I doubt it! So what makes them a good network marketing prospect? You got it, absolutely nothing! So why waste your time chasing them?
So your question to me would be “what’s a good prospect” and “how do I find them”. The answer to both questions can be given with one simple answer. A good “network marketing prospect” would be someone who comes to you looking to get involved in whatever it is you are doing. They want someone to help them make money.
Now you will ask, “How do I get them to come to me”. That answer is also very simple, “You attract them to you”. You see, there are thousands of people looking for alternative ways to make money and many are interested in multi-level marketing. They just don’t know which one is best. It’s very likely that they are researching one that someone has already presented to them. It just happens to be that you are involved in network marketing and are looking for people to recruit into your business. Sounds like a perfect match.
The only thing that you need to do now is to give them a way to find you, right? That’s where the internet comes in. It just happens to be that those network marketing prospects are surfing the web relentlessly trying to find you. They just don’t know it yet. Now that you know that the prospects are there, it’s your job to guide then to you. That’s where the fun really begins.

Making money online is a very viable industry. It is one of the few businesses that you that can honestly bring in 5-6 figure monthly incomes with almost no operating costs. That may seem crazy but it is the honest truth. The other truth is that most of the people that get started don’t make it. I am a full time internet marketer and would just like to share with you some of things that I wish I had known before I started marketing on the internet.
First off, this industry can twist your brain like a pretzel. The amount of information that is available is absolutely amazing. Please, think about the direction want to you go in very carefully. It is so easy to get pulled in multiple directions to the point that you don’t go anywhere. Clickbank.com is a great place to start. You may choose products that interest you in some way or ones that just seem to pay well. In either case, you would sign up as an affiliate and start making that link available to potential customers through various advertising methods that I will go over some other time. You could also build a web site or blog that would have some content related to the product and attract people to that and then direct them to the product. In either case, you get a commission when a customer buys using your link. Sounds simple, right?
The next is a bit more complex. It is called information marketing. This typically involves creating some type of information that you want to market and then selling it online. The product is often in the form of an ebook or online training course. How to books, training books, fitness and diet books are great examples. This is similar to the affiliate marketing except now you are actually marketing your own stuff. You can now offer your product to be sold by others as your affiliates. That’s one of the benefits of information marketing, that you can get others to do it for you. You just need the valuable content.
The last way to make money online that I am discussing is probably the most complex but is also my personal favorite. Your potential for massive residual income is incredible. It involves online network marketing or multi level marketing. This is an online business model that will probably create the most millionaires over the next few years. Multi level marketing is flourishing online with the ability to market to business seekers 24 hours a day. This type of online opportunity utilizes aspects of information marketing affiliate marketing and uses them to supplement multi-level marketing online. The opportunities here are amazing so do your research first before jumping in.
