Thursday, September 17th, 2009My wife and those horses!
Saturday, August 15th, 2009I usually like to talk about things related to cash flow, a wealthy mindset, or anything dealing with breaking the “poverty spirit”. Today I am going to change up a bit and talk about my incredible wife and her passion.
My wife Lisa absolutely loves horses. Without a doubt, she is a great wife and mother, but deep down in her heart, she is a cowgirl. You know, riding before she could walk, understands horses better than people, loves to touch them, smell them, hear them run, watch them play. I see her eyes shine with just the thought of horses. It’s that passion and free spirit that really attracted me to her. Falling in love with this cowgirl changed my life.
Her passion for horses has helped me in ways that I am only beginning to understand. You see, many of us forget what life is about. Life is supposed to be a passionate experience…connecting, living, enjoying, laughing and crying. We limit our worth and value to a bank account or a portfolio. Have you ever had a deep, meaningful conversation with your car or house? Of course not!
Think about this and let it sink in. Live your life to the fullest! Enjoy the gift that God has given you. Look to connect with the good in others. Share the good in you. Be passionate about something! It may not be horses but it should be something that brings out a child-like faith and excitement that empowers you to make a difference in the lives of others. It’s like this, if you do not find something to be passionate about, you are passionate about nothing. You tend to go through life without purpose and drive. Where is your motivation?
Get the “shine” back in your eyes.
Thanks,
Ron
P.S. If you are into horses and need a portable corral, you can connect with my wife through her Trail Corral web site.

Who’s Ron Knighton
Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009I want to describe myself to you but where should I start and why should you even care? Well, if you want to know that you can go from having nothing, to having something, back to having nothing, and then back again, you are in the right place. I can’t do like some and give the date and time it all changed for me, but I can say it was about six years ago. Some of the past six years (give or take) has been good, some bad, but it has all brought me to this very point, talking to you. Let me tell you, it is by no accident that you are right here, right now, at this very point in time.
My life has been and continues to be a process. At one point in time I hated the process. The mundane and tedious task of getting up, working, struggling, worrying, enduring pain, loss, gain, clouded thoughts, depression, joy, success, failure and everything in between. I thought, “What’s the Point”? Well, the point is life. You have only one life to live and it is a truly gift. What you do with it is your choice. It is truly what you want it to be. I finally decided to treat it like a gift and enjoy it.
“How do you enjoy it?” you may ask. Well, it starts in your head. You have to want to enjoy! Really want it, not just think you want it! You have to want to prosper, have money, control of your time and live an abundant lifestyle. You have to believe you deserve it! That last statement is the key. Life is a gift. Nothing in the universe can compare to it and you have it and you didn’t have to earn it. If you were found to be so valuable to be given life, why would you think that you do not deserve to prosper in it. That’s like getting a new bike for Christmas and not being allowed to ride it, only to push it around or carry it. How exhausting would that be? Ideally, you would just learn how to ride it and enjoy it the way it was intended. Not to say that you won’t fall a few times and get some bumps and bruises in the process, but the reward is too great to quite trying.
Now let’s be honest about this. We both know that life is a process. You can’t change that so don’t even try. How you handle life and learn from the process determines how fun the ride is. I remember reading “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” by Robert Kiyosaki and thinking, wow, what a great book. He basically discusses the mindset to create wealth and that’s awesome. Afterwards, I said to myself, “But how?” What are the specific steps? Give me a map that I can follow. You see, I tend to be left brain dominant. I analyze a lot before I move. I need to understand that process and the outcome before I get started. I did eventually make some changes in my life but did not really commit to the process of achieving great prosperity. I limited my thinking to only what made sense to me at the time. Basically, I learned only what I would allow myself to learn based on what I already knew. Now that kinda’ defeats the whole point of learning, doesn’t it?
What I want to tell you is that you can have prosperity. You just have to believe it and take the steps that show you believe it. The universe has an order, a set of laws that establish the continuing existence of everything and everyone. Whether you believe or not, it does not matter. The sooner you understand this and start to learn and employ these laws, the faster you will start to enjoy the benefits.
Now let’s get to it. It all starts with your thinking. If you determine your value by how much you have in the bank, then you are limiting your potential. We tend to think that we are only worth what we have generated to that point in time. Learn to pull from the success that you will have. You see, it’s our mindset that sets our value, and that in turn drives us to build more value in ourselves. If you look at success as a goal as opposed to a process, then you are always operating at some level of failure until you reach your goal. Of course, when we reach our idea of success, it’s not what we thought it was in the first place.
Start changing the way you look at things right now. Doing the same thing and expecting different results is insane. Start filling your brain with the right thinking. Check out my resources page to take look at some things that have helped me.
See ya’
